·       Legislative session update on budget/funds:  KETS, KEN/Internet, Dataseam, OET operational , other KDE offices, other state agencies (KET, etc.)

·       Focus of May’s KY K-12 edtech leaders webcast will be the Cybersecurity feedback we from 122 KY K-12 edtech leaders at our KY K-12 CIO Summit at KySTE

·       Update on the KY K-12 School Report Card for the next school year

·       KY K-12 online testing results, End of Course (EOC) testing.  A historic success!

·       Results of KY K-12’s Speak Up edtech survey

·       Update on statewide e-mail upgrade/transition to Microsoft and Google. Another historic success.

·       Computer Science standards update

·       Status of the Office of Education Accountability (OEA) survey on instructional materials sent to all districts on April 25th

·       The 2018 Bill Stilwell award

·       According to Kentucky Educational Television (KET), 50,000 viewers throughout KY watched our STLP state championship award ceremony from their homes last month. Wow!! That KET video of the 2018 STLP Awards has been posted to KDE’s Media Portal, see link . The last 5 minutes of this video are great fun to watch as the members on the elementary, middle school and high school teams find out for the first time that they are KY K-12’s overall STLP state champions. Plans are being made now for 3 of these teams to represent KY K-12 in Chicago at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference. The fourth team of KY K-12 students (i.e., our overall pure technical project winner) will represent KY at another technology event of the student’s choice (last year’s overall KY K-12 technical winner for STLP chose to go to Google to meet with their technology staff).
