Mathematical Fluency: Efficiency, Accuracy, Flexibility
Teachers from across the state participate in six hours of research based strategies focusing on mathematical fluency and the conceptual understanding of the Kentucky Core Academic Standards (KCAS) for grades K-3. Participants examine how conceptual understanding, application and procedural skill provide essential components in creating fluency. Educators explore the progressions of the KCAS that lead to mathematical fluency and deepen their understanding of the Standards for Mathematical Practice and their connection to conceptual teaching and learning.
